Steve-O: Dick-in-Cement
Limited series of Three NFTs
A series of three NFTs of the cement impression of Jackass Forever star Steve-O’s …well, nether regions.
The original impression was created with Steve-O for the for the November 2006 premiere of the film “T.V. The Movie”, which starred many of the members of the “Jackass” franchise.
In the spirit of the Old Hollywood tradition of stars’ foot and hand prints being immortalized in cement at Sid Grauman’s Chinese Theater, this cement slab was conceived in a manner far more in line with what one would expect from a luminary artiste such as Steve-O; it was not his feet that went into the hardening cement, but his trouser-less groin and the mainstays of many a Jackass stunt, his genitals.
The original cement piece whereabouts are unknown, and it is thought to have been destroyed.
“An impressive and deep entry into the NFT world” states Comtesse Imaginaire –Fausse Société Des Collectionneurs d’Arts Faux* .
In video footage of the creation of the piece, Jackass colleagues Johnny Knoxville, Preston Lacy, Chris Pontius, Dian Bachar and Wee-Man Acuna can be seen in attendance, the latter adding extra pressure to achieve a deeper impression into the mold by jumping on Steve-O’s gluteals. (Peter Dinklage was not consulted as to any political implications).
Other celebs in attendance included Danny Trejo, Lee Majors and former supermodel Janice Dickinson, who described the cement impression as “hot”.
Video of the event and the immortalization in cement can be seen below.
The cement impression was then sent to infamous groupie/artist Cynthia Plaster Caster to create a duplicate, however something went wrong in transit. e member of the Xenon team recalls as having occurred as part of a postal service drug investigation. A bag of dust and broken pieces arrived back at Xenon some time later, and one member of the Xenon team recalls evidence that there had been some sort of a drug investigation by the postal service.
Fortunately, a handful of digital photos exist of the item prior to its shipment and destruction, and these were used in creation of the NFT offerings, which consist of three unique still photos of the cement impression, signed by Steve-O and bearing the title treatment of the film and of Xenon Pictures’ Logo. The logo of the company originally branding the film has been redacted from the piece, as—though long ago leading the pack in cutting-edge comedy—they have distanced themselves from this film and its stars, despite these stars having had the top grossing film in the U.S. last weekend. Go figure.
